I Know It Was The Blood  (Ab)

I hope this is the old congregational hymn you're speaking of.   This is not only to you, but all who want to
learn.  We cannot play every song in Db because it's the favorite key of self-taught musicians.  We have to
consider the singers.  In Db here's the melody.

I - Ab
Know it was. - Db Db Db Db

They will be looking at you like"DangI can't sing with that!"  And, then you'll wonder why no one's singing.  The
sopranos are up in the Ozarks and they haven't even gotten to the highest part of the melody, and average
singers in the congregation cannot sing up that high.  The "low" people are on the Db right at middle C (that's
not very low for most men!) or singing bass an octave lower.   The "stock" key or "hymn" book key is Ab.  I've
chorded it here in Ab because it is the "singable" key.

Here's basic LH play an octave\R.H. 3 note chordsthe melody is on the top.you're starting the chords right in
the middle of the key board:   [chord symbols:  Chord\bass note].  I chorded this in a "stride format" with the
left hand.(I'll email the midi to youthe first time, I play it just basic like it's chorded herethe next time, a little
beefed up with some chord substitutions.I'll be happy to tell them to you.  Because you asked for both hands,
I wasn't certain of your skill level.  Keep playing!! J!
